If I file bankruptcy I will…

Never be able get credit again.
If this were true, there would be no need for the bankruptcy
code to limit your ability to file chapter 7 bankruptcy to once
every eight years. After a bankruptcy filing you will have to
take steps to rebuild your credit, but with time and careful
planning you can rebuild your credit.

Have to give up my house and/or car.

In most cases my clients are able to keep all of their
property, however you must continue to make all the monthly mortgage and car payments to the lender.

Not be able to include taxes.

Under certain circumstances income taxes may be discharged in bankruptcy.

Be embarrassed.

Bankruptcy filings are not required to be published in the newspaper. Only your creditors or others affected by your bankruptcy are notified of the bankruptcy filing.
